PLG Clean Energy Projects signs Letter of Understanding with MP for 200 MW Wind Power Plant

PLG Clean Energy Projects, an integrated Renewable Independent Power Producer has signed a Letter of Understanding with the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh to set up a 200 MW Wind Power Generation Plant with an Investment of Rs 1300 Crores (USD 216 Million).

This letter is to set forth the intention of PLG Clean Energy projects Ltd. to invest INR 1300 Crores in setting up a wind power project of capacity 2OO MW on suitable government / private land in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The Letter of Understanding signed by Mr. Punit K Goyal, Co-Founder & Managing Director of PLG Clean Energy Projects & Shri S.R. Mohanty, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh at Global Investors Summit, 2014 on 10th of Oct 2014.

The 200 MW Wind Power Plant will be set up at one single location & will be the largest Wind Power Plant in the country. PLG Clean Energy Projects will set up the 200 MW Wind Power Plant under Build, Operate & Ownership (BOO) model.

The 200 MW Wind Power Plant will produce 421 Million Units of Energy annually for the vibrant state of Madhya Pradesh & will provide electricity to 350,000 households in the state. The 200 MW Wind Power Plant will have an annual revenue of Rs 268 Crores (USD 44.66 Million) & will generate total revenue of Rs 6000 Crores (USD 1 Billion) over 25 years. This will be the largest wind power plant of Asia & will provide employment to 1500 people during its construction.

The Co-Founders & Managing Director of PLG Clean Energy Projects – Mr. Punit K Goyal & Mr. Kiran Patil met Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh at the Global Investors Summit & presented the business plan to set up the largest wind power plant of 200 MW in the vibrant state of Madhya Pradesh.

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh assured PLG Clean Energy Projects that Govt. of Madhya Pradesh will provide & facilitate PLG Clean Energy Projects with all the support to develop & set up India’s largest 200 MW Wind Power Plant.

PLG Clean Energy Projects Private Limited (PLGCEP) has a project pipeline and project portfolio of 1500 MW (1.5 GW) of renewable energy assets in India & has made an investment of Rs 340 crores (USD 65 Million) till date already. PLGCEP develops, builds, owns & acquires Renewable Energy Assets currently being built in India.

PLGCEP developed India’s 1st 20 MW Solar Power Plant in Patan, Gujarat. The turnaround time to set up the plant was a record of 108 days, the fastest turnaround time in the world from inception to commissioning of the project.
